With that kind of love and care for your four legged friend, you can't help but want to take him everywhere with you, especially when he wants to be everywhere with you anyway whether it's a drive to the store, the dog park, or on a vacation.

The great news is that more and more places are allowing pets to join their owners as well. Of course this occurs frequently at your local dog food store. But now, motels, zoos, and even beaches are even allowing our furry friends. This is great news. This is also the reason why you need to train your pet.

Training your pet ensures for good behavior on the dog's end. When your dog is in the presence of other company he should be displaying good manners by not barking, not running off or fighting other dogs, not jumping up on people, etc.

When you train your pet to be a good dog, you both get to share in the fun of traveling and both of you will enjoy a wonderful experience together.

Good Dog School Basic Training Concepts for Owners

Good Dog School Lesson:

One thing to remember when training your adult dog or puppy is that you must be the one in charge. It is commonly referred to as being the "pack leader". If you want your dog to follow your commands and obey your instructions, he must see you as the leader.

This doesn't mean to yell at him and definitely there should be no beating or abuse of any kind. Being the leader to your pet simply means being the authority. And you can be that authority by simply changing the tone of your voice with your commands.

You should do other things as well in order to ensure your position of authority such as having your dog walk slightly behind you when he is on the leash and definitely show no fear with your pet. Giving any wiggle room in these areas will cause your dog to want to take the position of authority in the house.

Within the animal kingdom, there is natural instinct for protocol. To dogs, protocol means following the command of the authority, who would be you as the "pack leader". Act as that authority and you will find yourself with a good dog.

Good Dog School Home Training Resources

Use this training system to stop problem dog behaviors and cut down your training time by half using techniques that provide immediate results.
Good Dog Training Guide!

This is one of the best resources for helping to provide a positive and problem-free house training experience from day one.
Ultimate House Training Guide for a Good Dog!

Learn how to transform your dog’s behavior, regardless of the breed or problem, in order to have the well behaved dog companion you’ve always wanted.
Well-Behaved Dog!

Learn how to housebreak your puppy or adult dog in as little as seven days.
